I have been in literally hundreds of studios in my life as a musician. When going to a new studio for the first time, despite a good chat on the telephone or even after a visit, you never know how the relationship will evolve. Is the engineer a listener or not! I leave the studio after a couple of hours if the engineer is not a listener. In Craig's case he was a good listener which meant I was going to get the sound I wanted.
Of course being a good sound engineer is also a prerequisite for a successful recording. Craig is both, we have had two very successful recording sessions at M4 Studios with Craig in the driving seat ( and he makes good tea and coffee ).
